Cease and DesistI created the Wellingtonist in February, after having discovered and admired the Gothamist and Londonist sites earlier this year.

It's such a good idea for a blog. Just write witty and informative posts about the city you live in, with local people providing the info and comments on the things that interest them. All very noble; community spirit and all that. And ultimately, of course, with the potential of getting noticed by the heavy-hitting publishers of the Gothamist empire, and bought out for some extraordinary sum of cash.

Well, they finally noticed us, but only to say (very politely, it must be said) that 'imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, but...'

Ah well. So the site's had a bit of an overhaul to avoid any unpleasantness (although's there only so much you can do, I think, with a 3-column fixed-width layout like that - most of it's just common sense). And a new moniker. We are now The Wellingtonista.

And, on a totally unrelated note, I find the Google 'similar to' search for my blog to be eerily observant.
